Lazy Method

A practical playbook for building products with less wasted effort, finding what works, and repeating the process.

Most product ideas do not fail because the founder could not build them. They fail because too much time is spent building before anyone knows what deserves to exist.

The Lazy Method starts from a different place. Instead of trying to be original at every step, look for proof that people already care. Instead of building a complete product, build the smallest useful version. Instead of guessing which message will work, create many versions, learn quickly, and put more energy behind the ones that earn attention.

This is not about being careless or doing less for its own sake. It is about removing unnecessary work so that effort goes toward the parts that create real demand, revenue, and momentum.

Core Idea

Lazy ≠ doing nothing

Find the easiest way to get the desired result.

Goal: maximize revenue while minimizing effort.

1. Choose Proven Ideas

  • Do not invent a completely new idea when a proven opportunity already exists.
  • Choose an existing app or category that is already successful.
  • Improve the design, experience, or implementation instead of starting from zero.
  • Use TikTok and Instagram to understand what people already care about.

2. Clear Viral Feature

  • The product should have a feature that can be explained in one screenshot.
  • Focus the product on a clear user transformation.
  • Ask: What does the user get after using this?

3. Build Simple

  • Do not overbuild the product before you know whether people want it.
  • Build only enough to test whether users care about the idea.
  • Keep the technology stack lean and easy to change.

4. Optimize the Funnel

Ad → App → Onboarding → Personalized result → Paywall → Subscription
  • Use 12–15 onboarding steps to understand the user.
  • Give the user personalized insights before showing the paywall.
  • Make the user feel that the product is already working for them.

5. Use AI for Ads

  • Generate 10–20 ad variations cheaply with AI.
  • Test many different creative concepts.
  • Find the variations that achieve a good CPA.
  • Stop spending money on the ads that perform poorly.
  • Keep investing in the winning ads.

6. Make Native TikTok Ads

  • Make the ads look and feel like normal TikTok content.
  • Hook people in the first 3–4 seconds.
  • Do not make the content feel like an advertisement immediately.
  • Show the core feature naturally inside the story.

7. Scale Winners

  • When an ad works, increase its spending gradually.
  • One example from the video is to increase spending by 20% every 3 days.
  • Do not waste money scaling ads that do not work.

8. Validate the Right Thing

  • Do not use ads to validate whether the idea itself is good.
  • Choose a proven category before you start testing.
  • Use ads to test whether your creative and marketing work.

9. Do Not Get Attached

  • Build the product, validate it, grow it, and then sell it.
  • The goal is not necessarily to operate the app forever.
  • Sell the successful app and repeat the process.

10. Use AI to Reduce Work

AI can help with the heavy lifting across the product-building process:

  • Use AI for ad creation.
  • Use AI to develop stronger hooks.
  • Use AI to write and refine scripts.
  • Use AI to analyze creative performance.
  • Use AI for browser-based ad management.

The idea is to use AI for the heavy lifting instead of manually doing everything.

11. Personal Brand

  • Share what you are building.
  • Learn from people who have already built successful products.
  • Build an audience while you build products.
  • Your personal brand can become a long-term moat.
